In the FA Cup, Chelsea reached the final but lost to Arsenal. Due to poor performance, however, he was rarely used and only played in the League Cup from the start. Zallmann then joined the regional league club VfB Lübeck, for whom he made twelve appearances in the 2001/02 season and played a part in promotion to the 2nd division.
